Since Rod’s teen years, he always greeted people with this hand sign. Everyone assumed it was just the “love” hand sign, but it had significant meaning to him. It shows the L for love and the C for Christ; with the sign given over his heart. When the logo for Holywudd came up for discussion, Rod and his mom, Sue decided to put Christ looking down at the U in Holywudd, because He is always loving and looking at you.
I am writing this daily devotional at the suggestion of my Uncle Joe, and with the help of my mother. I fell to the wrong side of the fence that I straddled for most of my life…so I am writing on my knee holding my Bible on the other knee in a Federal Prison.
At the age of nine years, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, and was filled with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. I was raised by a family who were God fearing and faithful people; especially my mother and maternal grand-parents. I won’t go into the details of my life growing up, but will tell you that I made many wrong choices and had to pay the consequences of them. I was a risk taker, always living on the edge, yet my heart was soft and I never lost sight of God and His love for me. He pulled me out of the fire many times, saving my life many times. My mother and grandmother always told me, “The Lord has something great for you to do and no matter how fast you run, He will fulfill the plan He has for you.” Upon my graduation from Oklahoma State University, I had my heart set on moving to California. I saw many TV shows about California with its fancy cars, fast life, beautiful weather and lots of activity. That was my dream, to be where the movie stars and rock stars were, promoting and in marketing. I did move to California, and had some good jobs with some big companies. Did some bit parts in movies, and partied with the glam of Hollywood. The more I came involved with that life, the more money I had to have, so as well as using drugs and drinking, I got into the underworld dealing drugs. The consequences of my lifestyle caused my loss of some awesome jobs. Yet the Holy Spirit was talking to me and I soothed my thoughts by going to church, praying and giving to the needy. I continued to witness to street people and prayed with them. I thank God for my family who was back in Oklahoma, pleading the Blood of Jesus over me for protection, for anointing, healing and restoration for me.
When I was arrested and put in prison the first time, a word was given to my mother by a visiting minister at her church: “Your son was not arrested, he was rescued.” Needless to say, I soon lost my homes, my cars, my motorcycles, and “my drug friends” cleaned out my beautifully furnished home in West Hollywood. Of course, not all the money I had was drug money, but the FBI took all of that too. I lost all my worldly goods, but one thing they could not take was my love for God and being in here has given me time to read, study, meditate, and renew my mind on the Word... Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.”
I want to close this introduction with the scripture that the Holy Spirit gave my mother when I was imprisoned in Federal Prison. Jeremiah 29:11-14 “ For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. (12) Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. (13) And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (14) And I will be found by you declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.” While incarcerated, I completed the studies for a Masters Degree from Shalom Bible College & Seminary, West Des Moines, Iowa. The 7th day of November 2014, I received this Sacred Degree of Master of Ministry and awarded the distinction of Magna cum Laude. I plan to carry and share the Word with many upon my release from prison. I have studied teachings on the Word, learned from many ministers on TV; radio and utilized many of the Scriptures and thoughts that they shared in this devotional. Credits to:: Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Greg Laurie, Gregory Dickow, David Jeremiah, Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Myer, Charles Capps, Kenneth Hagin, Jack Hayford, Joe Dockery, Charles Stanley and many others during my lock up. Scripture from the King James Version, NKJV, New Spirit Filled Life Bible, American Patriot’s Bible, Charles Stanley’s Life Principles Bible, and the Amplified Bible. I pray the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon you as you read this devotional, always remember He is Faithful and He is Love. He did come to set the captive free.

Her specialty being an article called, “The Way It Wuz”. Sue has been a member of the Carselowey Cemetery for twenty-five years or so. Lives in the home her grandmother and grandfather built in 1905. One of her pieces won Best-in-Show at the Craig County Fair this year. “I still have many things on my bucket list, one that I’ve put on hold is to write a cook-book of my favorite recipes.” “I was so blessed and grew in knowledge and wisdom by the research, study of Scriptures while writing Holywudd Word Up. I am thankful for the anointing given to me to be able to finish and have the book published.”
I am active in church and have been most of my life. God has definitely been good to me. I sung in the choir and enjoyed the fellowship and music, but my voice has given out on me and I only sing to myself now days. Rod was having a prayer group and Bible study with some men and my brother-in-law suggested that he write the devotionals out and send to me and we could write a book to publish, after four-plus years the devotional, entitled “Holywudd Word Up” was sent to the publishing Xulon Press. Rod also known as “RocknRodLong” has also written a screenplay which hopefully will be made into a movie.Sue Buzzard 1-323-207-0258
